I struggle to remember information and words, can I still participate?

Absolutely! Dementia affects cognitive abilities over time, but communication and memory challenges don’t mean you can’t engage in coaching. Our sessions are tailored to individual needs, ensuring you can participate meaningfully. We'll continuously review their ability to benefit from the process as the condition progresses.

I would like more help from the medical professionals involved with my care, please can you contact them?

Empátia is here to support you on your journey, but it’s not a medical service. We don’t replace your health or social care providers. For any medical or care-related questions, please reach out to your healthcare team. We’re here to empower and guide you alongside their support.

I urgently need help.

If you need urgent help, please reach out to your healthcare team or emergency services. For additional support, check out our list of helpful contacts. We're here to guide and support you along the way.

How does Empátia differ from other services?

Empátia offers dementia counselling to explore and adapt to difficult feelings and coaching to nurture skills and management strategies. We measure outcomes, tailored specifically for families and individuals facing dementia. Unlike traditional healthcare, we offer specialised coaching and counselling to support caregivers, and those with early-stage dementia, and provide whole family support. Our service is accessible at any point in your journey and, being online, geographical barriers are removed, ensuring consistently accessible support.

Does Empátia provide face-to-face clinics?

Currently, Empátia offers a UK-wide accessible online service to ensure easy access for both people with early-stage dementia and their family caregivers. We understand the challenges of reaching central clinics. While face-to-face options are not available now, we're always looking into ways to better support you. Your comfort is our priority, and we're committed to providing dedicated care through our online platform.

How do I pay?

Payment is easy! You can pay via bank transfer before your session. We’ll email you the details along with the coach-client agreement to review. If you prefer to pay over the phone, just let your coach know, just make sure it’s done at least 12 hours before each session.

How do I know what I need?

At Empátia, our dementia coaching packages are uniquely tailored to you and your family’s needs. During our initial assessment, we’ll explore your specific circumstances to find the right fit. Whether you choose standalone sessions or a personalised package, we’ll work together to ensure it suits you perfectly.

What if I have booked an appointment but cannot attend?

Empátia Specialist Dementia Coaching understands the challenges faced by caregivers, and we're flexible with appointment arrangements. If memory issues make attending a dementia counselling and coaching session difficult, involving a trusted friend or family member in implementing strategies could be beneficial. Just let us know your situation in advance, and we'll work together to find a solution that works for you. Your well-being is important to us, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

I am still waiting for a memory assessment to determine whether or not I, or my loved one, has dementia, can I still access this service?

Participation in dementia coaching and counselling is assessed individually. We understand the delays in memory assessments. If a formal diagnosis is pending, we address cognitive difficulties specifically. A consultation will determine your suitability for our service based on your unique needs. We prioritise personalised support for you and your family.

Empátia Dementia Specialist Coaching and Counselling currently offers an online service for English speakers, with plans for ongoing evaluation and potential updates in the future.
